Facial Rejuvenation Acupuncture

What is Facial Rejuvenation

Facial Rejuvenation Acupuncture is a natural, and safe treatment to help reduce the signs of ageing or maintain a youthful appearance. It builds collagen, tones muscle, improves circulation, and stimulates blood flow with no risk of scars, infections, rashes, or toxic build-up of chemicals. Unlike traditional cosmetic surgery, Rejuvenation Acupuncture uses a holistic approach.

Body Acupuncture is also used, in addition to the face, during the treatment to address constitutional issues and stress which can contribute to puffiness, bags and premature ageing. When the body is at a more rested, healthy state on the inside, the outside reflects this state with a healthier and more youthful appearance.

With a series of Facial Rejuvenation treatments we can achieve a multitude of results including:

  • Erase fine lines
  • Lift sagging eyelids
  • reduce under-eye circles & bags
  • firm jowls & reduce double chin
  • eliminate puffiness
  • regulate hormonal imbalance
  • reduce the appearance of acne
  • tighten pores
  • reduce scarring and age spots
  • Promote holistic health & wellbeing

Ruth trained in Facial Rejuvenation Acupuncture in the USA with Michelle Gellis, one of the most renowned Facial Acupuncture teachers.

Is this just a trendy new Procedure?

No. As early as the Sung Dynasty (960AD-1270AD) acupuncture rejuvenation practices were employed for the Empress and Emperors.  Recently Acupuncture Facial Rejuvenation was demonstrated on the Dr. Oz show. (http://www.doctoroz.com/videos/acupuncture-facelift) and it is becoming increasingly popular as people are turning to more natural solutions to address ageing due to potential side effects associated with cosmetic and surgical procedures.

In fact, Hollywood's elite have long used acupuncture to maintain youthful appearances as the ability to express themselves through their face is vital, however many popular procedures such as Botox injections can impair this ability.

Is there any proof that it works? A 1996 report in the International Journal of Clinical Acupuncture reported that in 300 cases treated with Facial Acupuncture, 90% had marked effects with one course of treatment (12-20 sessions).

What does a treatment involve?

Each treatment involves acupuncture to the body to address constitutional issues and stress, and insertion of needles to facial acupuncture points and wrinkles to target your specified concerns.

Following this, a relaxing massage is provided using Facial Cupping and Gua Sha to provide a sense of deep relaxation and target further skin and ageing concerns. All provided in the comfort of your own home.

What is Facial Cupping?

Facial Cupping can be transformative to your appearance either as a standalone treatment, or as an addition to acupuncture facial rejuvenation. Cupping offers many additional benefits to help skin regain its youthful appearance such as:

  • Increased local circulation to the skin
  • brings nutrients to the surface
  • increases blood flow
  • drains stagnant fluids
  • reduces puffiness
Facial Cupping

After applying a special lotion, a small cup is either “parked” for a few seconds over a deep wrinkle to increase blood flow to the area, or it is moved along the face and down the neck to drain lymphatic fluid and stimulate blood flow.

These treatments bring collagen to the surface, reducing puffiness & dark circles, diminish lines, drain nasal sinuses and the lymphatic system. Conditions such as TMJ and sinus pressure are also relieved. Facial Rejuvenation cupping is entirely painless and is not an irritant to the skin and safe to apply on rosacea, melasma or sensitive skin.

What is Gua Sha?

Facial Gua Sha is provided at the end of an acupuncture rejuvenation treatment, or as a standalone treatment which is coupled with facial cupping. This is a technique in which specially crafted handheld pieces of smooth jade are used to invigorate the skin, smooth out wrinkles, increase blood supply and can be used to treat a variety of skin conditions such as Rosacea, Melasma and dark circles.

It is used as part of a comprehensive acupuncture facial rejuvenation program for wrinkles, sagging and puffiness. Gua Sha can address areas such as the neck and jowls, which are prone to sagginess. The increased blood circulation, which occurs during Gua Sha, helps to detoxify the face and move stagnant blood and inflammation, which can occur under the eyes. By providing increased blood flow to the face, the skin is better nourished and healthier.
