About Ruth
I spent almost 15 years working in the field of environmental biology in a variety of roles, before deciding on a career change and becoming a nurse.
I always had an interest in health and fitness and complementary health care. I first learned about acupuncture when I had treatment for a painful back and was really impressed with the results it achieved. I was curious as to how acupuncture could possibly work, and after doing some research into the subject, I became so interested that I decided to train to become an acupuncturist myself.
I undertook training provided by the British Medical Acupuncture Society, who provide courses for registered healthcare professionals, and I am now a certified Medical Acupuncture practitioner. I also worked in a busy acupuncture clinic during my training where I was able to gain experience treating a wide range of issues. I now have a special interest in treating pain, and find treating chronic pain particularly rewarding.
I ran my own acupuncture clinic in Scarborough in Yorkshire for 2 years. I really enjoyed my time there but in the end decided to relocate back home to Scotland. I am now offering a mobile treatment service in the Cumbernauld and Forth Valley area, where I will treat you in your own home. Areas outside Forth Valley, but close to Clackmannan where I am based, will also be considered for home visits. Please call to ask if your location is suitable for a home visit.
