  • Women's Health: Period pain, Menopausal symptoms, endometriosis etc.

There are of course many more that could be added to this list. If you would like to know if acupuncture could help you then please call me for advice.

Further Information

The British Medical Acupuncture Society has good information for patients on their website here. It gives an idea of the range of conditions that acupuncture can be used to manage and outlines what you can expect from treatment.

The British Acupuncture Council has also produced a series of fact sheets which indicate the range of conditions that acupuncture may be useful in helping to treat. These can be found here.

About Ruth

Although I spent nearly 15 years working in the field of biological sciences, I have always had a long standing interest in complementary health care. Due to this, I eventually decided on a career change and became a nurse.

I first encountered acupuncture as a patient when I had treatment for back pain and was astounded with the results it achieved compared to other treatments. Coming from the background of a biologist I was curious as to how acupuncture worked so decided to find out more.  After looking delving into its background I decided to train to become an acupuncturist myself.

I undertook training given by the British Medical Acupuncture Society, who provide courses for healthcare professionals regulated by statute, and I am now a certified practitioner in my own right. My main area of interest is the treatment of acute and chronic pain.

I ran an acupuncture clinic in Yorkshire for 2 years, alongside working in an established clinic, where I was able to see and treat clients with a wide range of conditions. It was a fantastic experience but I eventually decided to move back home to Scotland. I am now providing a service where treatment is offered in your own home in the Linlithgow and Forth Valley area. Areas outside Forth Valley, but close to my base in Clackmannan may also be considered for appointments. Please get in touch to ask.
